This piece is Part 2 of my response to the first of two articles by Peter Masters in the Sword and Trowel 2016: Issue 2: ‘God’s Parallel Covenants’, ‘drawn from the 2016 Tabernacle School of Theology’.1 In my previous article I dealt with Masters’ work in general terms. I have to confess that my reply in that piece was not so clear as I would have liked, but I found myself constantly having to sort out Masters’ confusing use of the terminology of covenant theology; in particular, ‘the covenant of works’ and ‘the covenant of grace’, or their equivalent. If only he had used scriptural terms! We would be talking about the old covenant (the Mosaic) and the new. Ah, well!
