The crowds in heaven praising God for juding sin presents a hard lesson for a humanistic world. This sermon considers the built-in desire for justice in the human race, when it suits us. It then goes on to consider the horrors of God's justice and how the same people who longed for justice on earth are now rebelling against true justice. This is God's amazing, true, wonderful, merciful judgment. Furthermore, this sermon continues to consider the shouts of praises from those in the presence of God at the sight of the destruction of the wicked. Everything will change at that time, when God's people will be given a pure perspective on all matters. This pure perspective will be so dramatically different and elevated that the true ugliness of sin will horrify us, and the true perfection of God's justice will overwhelm us. No longer will family ties cause us to side against God and for our unbelieving loved-ones; every believer will side in complete agreement with God, against the rebellious unbeliever.
This reality fuels a sense of urgency in the heart of the believer for evangelism. The window of opportunity will soon close and the respective states of believers and unbelievers alike will be sealed forever. Let us use the time to reach out to the lost with every means at our disposal.
