God commands us to "Be of good courage". Could it be that we lack courage and that is why God is not strengthening our heart? Psalm 31:24 says "Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." The reward of courage is "he shall strengthen your heart". If we give up then don't look for God to strengthen our heart. Our hope is on the Lord. Job, David, Daniel, and Paul did not quit in the face of adversity. They took courage and continued to hope in the Lord.
