Psalm 146 is a beautiful testament of praise to the Lord, and exhortation to trust in Him and not in human rulers. Too often we foolishly put our trust in men, who have no power to even give us food. The Psalm also prompts us to praise God, something that should be inherent but is not because we are depraved. He alone is worthy of all our praise, trust, and love. He made the heavens and earth, the sea and all it contains. He executes justice for the oppressed, and supports the needy. He keeps his promises forever. He loves the righteous, and thwarts the wicked. He is our Savior, whom we desperately need. O give Him the praise due to His Name!
