Does it not amaze you that all the nations have followed their own god's and their own bellies, should we not come to a point when we turn to our God, the One True God, and enquire of Him? Should we not seek terms of peace with Him? God here is marveling that the people are going to Mediums. and Necromancers, instead of the Only Sovereign God of the Universe who has established and decree'd every moment in time. These people were placing their trust in Astrology, and people who claimed that they were talking to the dead. The unBiblical Horoscope crowd that can read your future on tea leaves and the back of your hand, as long as you have $20. That was the mind and the heart of the people. Oh they were outwardly the most pious and religious that they had ever been. They kept the law and made sure that everyone else did as well. They even made new and better ones by adding to the laws and changing them to suit their own passion for power, and in doing so they made the law of God into legalism which noone could keep. The people of Israel were commanded to be an example of Holiness, and they failed in every way. But Jesus, was the glory of Israel from birth, He shined as the perfect example of Holiness and righteousness, but the people hated Him for that and because, the darkness hates the light they could have no fellowship with him. 2 Corinthians 6:14 (ESV)
