This Sunday morning a very simple statement of blessing that is found in union with Christ Jesus. In being united to Christ Jesus, having been given to Christ, our Covenant Head, by the Father, we are blessed with every spiritual blessing and here a union and victory that no power in heaven or on earth can threaten. This blessing of unchangeable union is the foundation not for our assurance of salvation, for our hope that the ministry of word, prayer, and sacrament will be effectual to bring about men to salvation, and for our own eternal security that once it is revealed to us that we are in Christ, we will in fact be let go.
