Last week, we began our study of Paul's second inspired letter—1st Thessalonians. We learned that this church was an exemplary church. Planted by Paul during his 2nd missionary journey and forged by the fires of persecution, the Thessalonian church had all the marks of what was necessary to become an exemplary church. They modeled to other churches in the Roman empire of what faithfulness to the Lord Jesus Christ looked like in anticipation of His return. This Lord's day, we will continue to examine what are the marks of an exemplary church so that we too can follow in their footsteps.
