The "ransom ratio" of ONE Israeli soldier for ONE THOUSAND Palestinian prisoners gives us a tiny glimpse into the "ransom ratio" which is so sublimely set forth in our text for today concerning the death of Christ for His people. In fact, that "ransom ratio" of one for so many was one of the primary, motivating factors for our severely persecuted Brothers and Sisters in the early Church to live their lives as "strangers here in reverent fear", and it must also serve as a primary motivating factor for all true Christians today as well. For as I Peter 1:17-19 teaches us in no uncertain terms, all those who sincerely profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are called to live as "strangers here in reverent fear" because of The Reality of Our Redemption!
