'As the apostle says to Timothy, so also he says to everyone, 'Give yourself to reading.' He who will not use the thoughts of other men's brains proves that he has no brains of his own. You need to read. Renounce as much as you will all light literature, but study as much as possible sound theological works, especially the Puritanic writers, and expositions of the Bible. The best way for you to spend your leisure is to be either reading or praying.'

Thanks to S W R B ministries This month marks my 30th anniversary of narrating books. I have no copies of the original cassettes, this narration being from 1985. If Reg had not uploaded this here I would have no copies or even memories of what it sounded like in the beginning, December 1985.

Alexander Narration comment The original title of this book is "Practical Truths." This is a narration from an 150 year old copy found in Arlington, VA. many years ago. The first narration I personally ever did for Chapel Library in 1985 was a title from this book. It was a sample narration and request to allow me to narrate books for them. At the time the Chapel Library was in Venice, FL. It has since moved to Pensacola. The name of A. Alexander was new to me, and I attempted to purchase any book I could find by him.
