All who believe in Jesus as Lord must serve him as Lord. As the Lord's servants we must turn from sin and turn to striving after obedience. But we do not do this alone. We are called to turn from sin and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace together with the rest of the body of Christ (which is the church). As the Lord's servants we are told in 2 Timothy 2 how we are expected to act. We are not to be quarrelsome as the false teachers are (1 Timothy 6:3-6); instead, we must correct our opponents with gentleness. We must patiently do this even with those who oppose God's Word because we too were once enemies of God, and as he rescued us from the snare of the devil, he may grant others repentance and faith as well that they may be saved.
