Judah suffered in exile because of their sin. Daniel's visions (Chapters 7,8) were given to encourage them, however they should not think that they suffered in an unwarranted manner. It was because of their sin that they suffered. Daniel recognized the fulfillment of the Lord's Word, was reminded of the Lord's promise of restoration for His people and prays to the the LORD towards this end, an encouragement for us to pursue the Lord's promises in prayer.
