In this sermon we consider 3 of Jesus teachings from Luke 10:1-20. First we consider Jesus' counsel on how we should increase the number of workers in the fields of spiritual harvest; we note that Jesus is not making a 'pious announcement', nor is he laying a guilt trip on the church; he sincerely calls us to pray to the Lord of the harvest for more workers. Second, we consider what Jesus says about the peril of unbelief noting that God's judgment is 'binary' there is no third category for judgment with God -- it is faithful or faithless, believing or unbelieving. Third, we consider Jesus instruction on what we are to rejoice in; not our authority over the spiritual realm, but our position in heaven according to God's sovereign choice.
