He is not only high and lifted up, but He is with those whom He has chosen throughout all the earth, reaching back through time and across the tribes, tongues, and nations of men (Ps. 113). He has purposed to redeem us, and so what have we to fear, not the lion's den, nor the sword of men, nor the fires of pagan kings whose very idols could not endure the judgments they have prepared for the righteous, yet there is one King, one Redeemer, one Creator who can pass through water, pass through fire, and be untouched and He holds fast to those who are His that they might pass through with Him and be saved. Oh Believer, that you might cry out, as the psalmist did, "What can man do to me?"
