This morning we begin a sermon series on what are known as "The Pastoral Epistles." Because of the anti-Christian culture that surrounded Christ's New Testament Church, the Apostle Paul had special instructions for the two young ministers under his care, Timothy and Titus. In his writings to them, Paul emphasized three main points: church government, sound doctrine, and proper living. Because Christ's Church is again surrounded by an anti-Christian society, these writings can greatly benefit us still today. This morning we are told of: 1. The three main themes of these letters: a. b. c.
2. How the Church is "charged" to promote sound doctrine.
3. How sound doctrine will lead to proper Christian living.
