Christ said in John 15:18-19 "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world the world would love his own but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you." If the world hated Christ why would we ever expect the world to make it easy on us. There are those that teach that if you believe on Christ you will have health, wealth, and happiness in this world. That is not the case. That is why Jesus said to count the cost if you would follow Him. There is a peace and joy unspeakable found in trusting our Lord and Saviour through the troubles of this world but much persecution can and does come from this world to believers in our Lord. Our Lord was persecuted continually throughout His ministry. Why would we think the world would be kind to us who believe and follow Him.
