Atheist Apologetics (Proverbs 26:4-5) Introduction 1 Peter 3:15, we must "Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you."
Christians and non-Christians can generally agree about all kinds of things and share what's called "common ground." But should we let that go unchallenged?
There are still plenty of Christians holding onto classical apologetics. But more recently, Christians have started to argue against atheists through "presuppositional apologetics."
Exposition: A Primer on Presuppositional Apologetics "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction" (Prov 1:7). All fools refuse to live in the fear of the Lord.
1. Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him (v. 4).
2. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes (v. 5)
Conclusion Prov 29:9, "If a wise man contends with a foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace." The one thing you can't expect from a fool is a calm, peaceful, objective approach for the problem. There will be no peace. Some will be angry, some will rage, some will laugh. But you will not get peace.
