God requires humility. The Bible tells us plainly to "humble" ourselves. There is no room for pride and stubbornness in a child of God. Humility is defined as, "lowliness of mind; a deep sense of unworthiness in the sight of God." It comes with a true knowledge of God and a personal encounter with Him and therefore its absence is evidence of the lack of a true knowledge of God. Humility is not pretended but an attribute of a redeemed soul. Pride is the opposite of humility and is first on the list of the things God hates.
