This seems rather odd and unnecessary, so why did it happen this way? Perhaps it a test by God, or maybe a time of trust for the Israelites, or it could be that this was meant to set up the scene for a final judgement on Pharoah's unrepentant heart. Additionally, they brought Joseph's bones out of Egypt when they left. Why?
