But the central blessing of baptism is that it rivets our attention on our relationship, our union with Jesus Christ.

'We have been buried with Him in baptism.'

We are dead and alive in Christ - dead to sin and alive to God.

Your old life style is buried in Christ.
At the same time you are raised to live a new life.

Baptism declares that believers and the children of believers belong to Christ.
