Acts 13:6-12 – The Supreme Filling – Sermon Outline
Intro: Last Sermon we saw the solemnity of calling and ordination into ministry. Now we see why. Need: Paul was called to ministry, and so is full of the Spirit to preach boldly, rebuke sharply, perform miracles, and persuade the Proconsul through Christ's Word and Spirit to repent and believe in Christ for salvation. Theme: Christ's Spirit-filled people wield the Truth to defeat those filled with the devil's spirit.
1. Elymas the Jewish false prophet tries to turn the proconsul Paulus away from Christianity. (6-8) 2. Paul glares at Elymas, rebukes his demonic deceptions, and blinds him by the Spirit's power (9-11) 3. The pronconsul believes because of the Lord's teaching and power that filled Paul. (12)
