Luke 22:1-13 – Betrayal, Passover, and Exodus – Sermon Outline
Intro: The faithful are always persecuted by the compromised and wicked. Christ is the ultimate example.
Need: Be faithful, despite hardship and hostility, and the wicked plotting, seeing we have communion with God through the blood of Christ in heaven above, victorious over all the wiles of the devil.
Theme: The Promise of Passover is heavenly communion with the risen Christ.
1. Judas is possessed by Satan and betrays Christ for blood money. (1-6)
2. Christ comforts His disciples by showing His suffering is according to God's sovereign plan. (7-12)
3. The Passover in the upper room reveals the vertical Exodus from earth to heaven for God's people in Christ. (7-13)
