Ephesians 2:2, 6:12 All man's enemies are now concentrated upon the earth and no longer in the HEAVENS. The parable of the nobleman shows that he traveled to the far country to receive the kingdom BEFORE his return. Luke 19:12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. Christ receives the kingdoms of this world BEFORE His return to Earth. His "short time" is three-and-one-half years, according to verse 14. PERSECUTED: No nationality of people has experienced the persecution that Israel has. Her torments throughout the Old Testament are well documented under the Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans. The New Testament list of atrocities is equally notable.
