“Go and sin no more.” Jesus’ words to an adulterous woman are familiar to us. We warm to His tenderness, and His reassurance that He did not condemn her. Nonetheless, Jesus made it plain that the woman was to stop sinning. But how? John the Apostle echoes our Lord’s heart as he tenderly reminds Christians that God’s outrageous forgiveness is a catalyst to holiness, not a license to indulge our sin nature. “My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin.” 1 John 2:1 (HCSB) Clearly, God desires that we change. But how do we do it? We are to be deliberate, diligent co-laborers with Him in our sanctification. And the Scriptures say much about how we do this. I know we’ll be blessed this Sunday as Pastor Sean shares from God’s Word: “A fruitful partnership.”
