I. We are to find encouragement from the Bible's teaching (v. 18). II. We learn that Christ will return with believers (v. 14). III. We learn that we will be with all the other believers when Christ returns (v. 17). IV. We learn that we will always be with the Lord (v. 17). Conclusion: What the Bible offers as encouragement shows us our spiritual condition. An unbeliever will find this not all that attractive or desirable. Believers do. •If you don't enjoy Him now, you will not be with him forever. • If you don't seek Him and commune with Him regularly, then you won't want to be with him forever. • If you love Him now (albeit ashamed you don't love him enough or as devoted as you know you want to), you'll be with Him forever because He is with you now through His Spirit.
If you find encouragement in the truths of his passage, then be assured, you will be Christ forever.
