We continue our exposition of Luke's gospel and begin to consider the interaction that was the occasion for Christ to deliver His parable of the Good Samaritan. In this first portion, we try to establish and understand the righteous requirements of the law that the lawyer Christ interacted with rightly recognized. We also observe from that lawyer fallen man's desire to reduce the requirements of the law so that he might have a chance of sneaking into heaven. Christ will have none of that. Man is forced then to acknowledge that he must flee to Christ for salvation after understanding the righteous requirement of the law. Luke 10:25-27.
