We have committed "spiritual adultery" anytime we choose our will over His will. When we choose to live life for ourselves instead of yielding to our heavenly bridegroom. One of the greatest evidences of God's love for His people is illustrated in Hosea 3. Even if we step out of His will and out of His ways, He will pursue us, draw us, and deal with us until we come to a place of being back in fellowship with Him. Here God instructs Hosea to purchase Gomer from the slave market and bring her unto himself in the same way that Christ purchased us from the slave market of sin and brought us unto Himself.
