1) Many try to establish their own righteousness-using the commands/imperatives/exhortations of the New Covenant because they do not understand the gospel.
2) Those commands are not for the believer to seek establish a new righteousness for themselves, but are given only to those who already possess the righteousness of God through faith.
3) Christ alone is our sanctification and that means holiness.
4) What God demands for salvation is absolute perfection and holiness not our best effort or sincerity.
5) Christ has become all the things that God requires for salvation on behalf of His people.
6) God is holy and so Christ is holy and sanctified to be the redeemer of His people.
7) He was sanctified-set apart to be the mediator and surety of salvation of His people. And by His death/His blood He sanctified all His people. To be holy is redemptive-it is not wearing long dresses. No one is saved for wearing long dresses. Christ alone!
8) This was a conference message and has a Part 2 titled-Sanctify them by thy truth and may God give light?
