Generally, godly people are offended by evil, and evil people are offended by righteousness. Spiritual people are offended by carnal people, and carnal people are offended by spiritual people. People who are clean are offended by people who are unclean, and unclean people are offended by people who are clean. This is manifested when they show a lack of respect and regard for one another. This is where the hypocrisy comes in. People who profess to be godly, spiritually-minded, and clean, but are offended with people who try to live godly, spiritually-minded, and clean, are hypocrites. Their ways are not equal and they are claiming to be what they are offended with in others. The same is true of the other side; someone who claims to believe in God and the Bible, but will not go to church or associate in any way with the people of God, but is quick to point out their sin, is a hypocrite. The law of charity is nowhere to be found in all this hypocrisy and evil thinking toward one another.
