There is a popular way of thinking in these modern times that the house of God is not important, or even necessary. "The church is the people and not the building," that is true, but a true scriptural church meets together somewhere. The Bible does not in any sense describe or define a church as everyone who is born again, not until the church age is finished and the bride of Christ is called out and taken to heaven. Until then the church is a local assembly that meets somewhere, and has organization, discipline, leadership, and a mission to get the Gospel to all the world. This is the very reason that Christians are persecuted in countries where Christianity and the Bible are forbidden. If they all just kept it to themselves and stayed hidden they would be much safer, but they meet together because they know that is what the Bible commands and God expects, and their heart desires. If your faith will not get you to church it will not get you to heaven.
