The Day of the Lord will continue, but chapter 10 functions as an interlude between the sixth and seventh trumpets. In this chapter, John receives a private message out of heaven that he was to keep to himself, being told to "seal up the things" (all truth was not revealed to believers); then the angel that had been standing on the sea and the land, loudly proclaimed that God was done holding back His wrath, "there should be delay no longer" (v.6); and finally, John was to commanded by a voice out of heaven to take the book (scroll) and devour it, it's initial message would be sweet, but the end result bitter. At this point, John's role as prophet was not complete, "you must prophesy again" (v.11).
