It is significant that this shortest psalm is the central "chapter" in the Bible. It is the fourth psalm sung during the Passover meal.
Interestingly our Lord would sing this the night He was betrayed. It is an invitation to Gentiles to join in on praising the Lord. Jesus, our Passover lamb, died for the whole world. Paul quotes the first verse in Romans 15:11, "God so loved the world, that He gave..." (John 3:16). Our Lord is giving the Gospel invitation: "Whosoever will, may come!"
