Theme: We see God's grace, mercy, and transforming power in the salvation of Paul. Paul mistakenly thought he could earn his way to Heaven, but God's standard is perfection. In application, we learn that we must be careful not to fall into a works-based salvation. In vv. 3-9, Paul, broken and humble, meets Jesus. He submits to the Lordship of Christ. In vv. 17-19, we see that Jesus shows His strength in our weakness. Paul now had the power to do what God had called him to, and he had a new joy! As you examine your life, whose kingdom are you prioritizing, yours or God's? |
