"Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God" (Ephesians 5:21). Verse 21. prepares for that which is to come regarding the submission of wives to husbands, of husbands to God, of children to parents and of servants to masters. This is mainly believers submitting to other believers, not believers submitting to the unbeliever. "Subjecting one's self to another is the opposite of self assertion, the opposite of an independent, autocratic spirit. SUBMISSION is when you give up your will for mine ("sub-mission" - your mission under my mission) - there is no submission when there is not disagreement or conflict (that is not submission, that is just agreement)
