In today's text we see a big contrast from last week's of Jesus with the young children. The "Rich Young Ruler" approaches Jesus. He outwardly appears humbly, but is inwardly self-righteous. The Rich Young Ruler answers that he has kept all the Commandments, which of course he had not. Jesus tells him to sell everything that he owns and give it to the poor. This young man does not want to do this of course, revealing that he cannot even keep the first of the 10 Commandments.
