Today I read, Deuteronomy 7. In verse 10, we see Moses describing how God will repay those who hate Him.
Sometimes I think we present a unbalanced view of God to the world. In an attempt to make God likeable to a lost group of people, we focus on the goodness and grace of God. He is good and full of grace. Yet, He is also a jealous and Holy God. He expects His creation to be holy.
What men need to realize is that their sin is rebellion against God. In essence, when men sin, they are expressing their hatred toward God. They want God to accept them as they are. They want God to accept their feeble attempts to do what they call good. They forget He is God. He demands holiness. He demands for men to do right. Men have miserably failed in that area. That is why they need the imputed righteousness of Christ. They need the righteousness of Christ instead of their own.
Even though God is good and gracious. We must not forget that God is holy and just. He will repay those that hate him to their face. He will destroy them for their hatred. He will not be slack to them that hate him. He will repay him to his face.
