Discipling In How The Holy Spirit Works (FTF-09)
A proper and biblical understanding of the Trinity is imperative to maintaining a consistent spiritual walk. It is also imperative when attempting to guide someone in the discipleship process. To understand the roles of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit as fully revealed in the New Testament writings of the apostles is like setting a train on train tracks - that's the place where movement can occur. Apart for a utilitarian approach in our spiritual walk, it allows us to be humbled and honor those who came before us in Church history who fought and studied and debated and faced persecution to codify and clarify biblical teaching. Even though the doctrine of the Trinity can be recited in a just a few sentences, the sweat, blood, tears, and time imbued within the clear understanding of it are uncountable.
