Isaiah the prophet said it well in Isaiah 9:6 when he promised the Lord would be born into this world and one of his names would be “The Prince of Peace.”

So called modern men of our day search for peace everywhere but the right place. If peace is to be found anywhere, you would think man would rush to the Prince of Peace to obtain it, but no, we try everything the world has to offer in vain. In our frustration, worry and disappointment, man continues like the troubled sea which casts up mire and dirt day and night without any peace.

The apostle Paul gives us the secret in the following verses, Philippians 4:4-7, “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful (overly anxious) for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

In Christ, the Prince of Peace, there is peace. There is peace and he can fill you with himself. We are reminded in James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

So let me say friends, don’t look for peace in a bottle. It will give you a high that will bring you to a low. Don’t look for peace in immorality, it all ends in tears of sorrow and regret. You won’t even find peace in millions of dollars and things of earth, because you can’t keep them very long since life here is so short.

There is only one place to find lasting peace that passeth all human understanding, and that is in Christ Jesus who said in John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
