Some of you older folks will remember that beautiful and meaningful little song of years gone by, “Only Believe.” I don’t remember who wrote it, but I do appreciate the writer for encouraging us in the direction of faith.

The writer in Hebrews 11:6 has much to say on the subject of faith, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

In life we walk by fear, or we walk by faith! I suggest the latter for peace, joy, and happiness that is greater than all the temporary trinkets of the world. God plainly tells us that there is no peace outside of living by faith.

If you do not live by faith, you will constantly fret, worry, hurry and scurry about; as nervous as a fish out of water! Every verse in Hebrews chapter eleven begins with “By faith.” By faith we see Him who is invisible (Jesus) and all his gracious works. He tells us in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

If faith is the only thing that pleases God, then you and I need to believe that even though we give our bodies to be burned and make any other sacrifice,that none of it would count without love. We cannot have love without faith, and certainly the two are like twins and are bound together.
