The Holy Spirit Creates, Convicts, And Authors (FTF-05)
Today, with Pastor Joh n Samuel Barnett , we continue to look at characteristics and roles the Holy Spirit plays in the life of disciples. This time we look at the Spirit's role in creation, in the conviction of sin, and being the author of Scripture. With our worship of God we should always keep a right picture of God so that we do not fall into idolatry or fall out of balance in truth. The doctrine of the Trinity seems to simple to state but reading church history and seeing how careful the church fathers were in fighting for a complete truth and understanding of the doctrine. We would be complicit if we failed to learn what they fought for.
Within the one Being that is God, there exists eternally three coequal and coeternal persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son or the Spirit. The Son is not the Father or the Spirit. The Spirit is not the Father or the Son. The roles of the Spirit are specific and revealed to us in Scripture.
