Pastor Steve shares these links to stimulate some Thursday Thoughts...

This week another “hat trick” … three blog posts from the same writer; Erik Raymond

Saved By God, From God and For God … Erik writes: “If you are a Christian you are saved from God (from his just wrath), you are saved by God (by his sacrifice) and you are saved for God (for his delight and praise). It is healthy to meditate and rejoice in this reality.” You can read the rest HERE.

Keeping the Gospel Soundtrack on Repeat … Erik writes: “As a Christian I struggle to keep the gospel playing on repeat on my mental play-list. I default to Law and idolatry. God then sends trials to providentially dissuade us of our value and fasten our eyes upon Jesus, who alone is valuable.” If you also ‘default to Law and idolatry’ you will want to read the rest HERE.

Imagine You’re 80 … My former pastor, Dr. Ed Young, was fond of saying, “We are all becoming more and more like what we’ve been becoming all along.” In this article Erik takes that axiom and applies it. He writes: “When we evaluate our lives, that is our daily practices, in light of the end, we might not like what it will look like when we are 80. And if we are not yet 80 then there is still time to make some adjustments.” You can read the rest HERE.
