"I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy." Proverbs 30:3
Can you hear the regret in this sentence? Agur is certainly not bragging here, but simply admitting that he did not apply himself to wisdom or the knowledge of God. We do not know how old this man was, but we do know that he laments the use of his time up until this point. How is it with you? Are you applying yourself to wisdom? Are you putting forth the effort and time that it takes to learn of God? If you aren’t, according to Proverbs 9:10, you haven’t even approached the starting line, when it comes to living a life of wisdom. This means that your life investments will surely yield a return of regret. I would encourage you to seek wisdom, by seeking the face of God.
