David said in Psalms 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd.” He was following the right shepherd! David’s shepherd created the world, the universe, all the stars and galaxies, the oxygen we breathe, and everything you can mention. He hung the stars in place and made you and me from the dust of the earth. He breathed into our nostrils the breath of life. It is the Lord who holds our life and future in his precious hands. He is a mighty big God. No wonder the psalmist David could boast, “The Lord is my Shepherd.”

David was not ashamed of that holy name, like many unbelieving Americans are today . If you have had a new birth as mentioned in John 3:7, you are a new creature or creation in Christ. Second Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Without that experience you are still lost, still in your sins and still headed for Hell. But if you confess your sins and ask Jesus to forgive your sins, save your soul, and make you whole, then he will be your Shepherd and Savior.
