“I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.” (Psalm 7:17) *****
HE DIED TO BRING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS TUNE “AMAZING GRACE” CM WORDS BY JIM BYRD
1. Upon the cross of Calvary The Savior took our blame; He suffered untold grief and pain, To put away our shame.
2. The wrath of God was poured on Christ, Who hung upon that tree; He died to bring in righteousness, From sin to set us free.
3. ‘Twas in this way the Lord of all, Could justly make us whole; Forgive iniquity and guilt, And save our wretched souls.
4. That bloody death on Calvary, Our pardon has secured; For all the vengeance due for sin, Christ Jesus has endured.
5. No condemnation e’er shall come, To those for whom He died; For by the Savior’s sacrifice, Our souls are justified. ****** SCRIPTURE READINGS TODAY: MORNING: ROMANS 15:13-21 EVENING: Acts 21:40-Acts 22:1-16 ****** Daily Readings - Oct. 4-10 Sunday - Matthew 7-9 Monday - Matthew 10-11 Tuesday - Matthew 12 Wednesday- Matthew 13-14 Thursday - Matthew 15-17 Friday - Matthew 18-20 Saturday - Matthew 21-22
***** Salvation is of the LORD God will not share His glory with anyone. People tell you how they "got saved" or made a "decision for Jesus". They speak of their supposed free will like it is sovereign over God. Let me tell you this, God is sovereign period. He saves whom He wills when He wills, if He did not do this, then none of us would be saved. What does God have to do for a man to go to hell? Just leave him alone. What does God have to do for a man to go to heaven? EVERYTHING! Salvation is in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone plus none of our works. He will not share His glory with anyone. Thus the believer in Christ cries, "Salvation is of the LORD! All glory and honor and praise to His mighty name!" –Pastor Wayne Boyd *****
It Is Finished If Christ did a work on the cross that made us savable (as some folks falsely like to say), then the work is not finished, and we are not saved, and we are not redeemed from God's wrath and justice. But praise be to God, His cry on the cross was "IT IS FINISHED!" There is nothing for us to do the work is done. We look by faith which is a gift of God not of works as man will boast of his doing something if he could. We look to Christ and Him alone. Also notice it is looking and not doing! Hebrews 12:2, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” What a GOD! What a SAVIOR! Is Jesus Christ my Lord! Look to Christ today tomorrow may not come! May God give you eyes to look to Christ today! –Pastor Wayne Boyd
***** No Rest but Christ “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) The gospel call goes forth in this verse. Come unto Me are the words of the Master the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no hope anywhere else. No hope in our works or in our self to gain merit and favor with God. Christ here says come to Him. Flee to Him! He says all you that labor or are heavy laden, are you weighed down by sins or by striving to please God by your works? Are you heavy laden with the burden of your sin? Flee to Christ! He says here come to Him and He will give you rest. Rest from the burden of sin, rest from your self-righteousness which are like filthy rags in the eyes of the Lord. Only Christ can give us rest, only Christ can give us peace. Flee to Christ - He is the sinners only hope! –Pastor Wayne Boyd
***** Divine Providence “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him Who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will” (Ephesians 1:11). The eternal will of God is the rule of His conduct in providence, according to which He proceeds. His wisdom, which fixed His will and therefore is said to be the counsel of His will, presides, guides and directs in the execution of it. The execution of His will is called His working. Therefore, providence is to be reckoned as His work. The wise man says there is “a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Whatever is done under the heaven in time, there was a purpose for it in eternity; and for the execution of that purpose a time was fixed; and at that time it is brought about by the providence of God Who “made every thing beautiful in His time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11), that is, in the time and season in which He appointed it to be done. Purpose and providence exactly tally and answer to each other. The one is the fulfillment of the other. “Surely, as I have thought, saith the LORD, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand” (Isaiah 14:24). –copied
