Un Pensamiento de la Palabra
“Hermanos míos amados, oid: ¿No ha elegido Dios los pobres de este mundo, ricos en fe, y herederos del reino que ha prometido á los que le aman?” Santiago 2:5
“Ustedes hermanos, a quienes amo, escuchen esto!” es lo que dice Santiago. Una parte del mensaje que sobresale es la frase “ricos en fe.” Dios nunca ha prometido hacer a su pueblo rico en casas, tierras u otros bienes materiales en esta vida. A veces Él puede proporcionar esas cosas, pero no es una garantía. Pero, Dios hace que su pueblo sea rico en el regalo más valioso de la fe.
La fe ha sido llamado el “ojo del alma”, que nos permite ver y conocer a nuestro Dios y Su palabra. A pesar de que se ha dado este regalo, a veces somos débiles en el ejercicio de la misma. La incredulidad, dudas y andar según lo que podemos ver con nuestros ojos, en lugar de lo que Dios ha revelado en su palabra, es una debilidad que todos luchamos. Como los discípulos le pidieron a Cristo: “Señor, auméntanos la fe “ así debemos hacerlo nosotros.
Necesitamos fe para creer que nuestros pecados son perdonados. Necesitamos fe para creer que Dios se cuida por nosotros y tiene un buen propósito en nuestros sufrimientos. Necesitamos fe para creer que sólo Dios verdaderamente satisface el alma, más que todos los demás falsificaciones. Necesitamos fe para creer que la obediencia a la palabra de Dios y vivir una vida de arrepentimiento continuo es el único camino para que vivamos. Necesitamos fe para creer que Dios tiene la sabiduría perfecta, y no nosotros. Necesitamos fe para creer que Dios es suficiente para todo que faltemos. Necesitamos fe para creer que Dios esta disgustado por la injusticia y un día lo hará justamente frente a todos los males. Necesitamos fe para creer que somos peregrinos y extranjeros en camino a un país celestial, donde nuestras alegrías en Dios nunca cesarán. “Señor, aumenta nuestra fe; nos hace vivir en la riqueza que nos has dado.”
