"These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment." Proverbs 24:23
We have a great nugget of wisdom before us today. While none of us will be surprised at what is being said, we all know the struggle that goes along with this precept. If we would be wise; our standard of right and wrong will not change, according to those who surround us. Wisdom builds conviction that refuses to compromise truth. When we decide to sacrifice God’s standard of truth in order to accommodate another person’s stature, we have greatly dishonored God and man. On God’s end, we have decided that the approval of man is more valuable that the approval of God. On man’s end, we are doing no one any favors, by promoting a lie in their honor. The most loving thing we can do to others is to be faithful to God. We are reminded once again, that the fear of The Lord, is the beginning of wisdom.
