Pardon Our Progress
INTENTION
· Drywall is going up.
· Front entrance is taking shape.
· Next week – drywall finish – brick begins – siding/soffit completes,
· Following that – week of 2/1 – painting and cabinet construction begin.
IMPACT
· This weekend will be a bit messy getting in - - keep an eye on the kids, there are likely some nails, etc. around.
· Consider, if you have the skills, blocking off some time for the week of 2/1 to either paint or be a helping hand in cabinet construction.
o Remember - - this is finish work. This is what we will all see. So some basic skills will be required. The Team Leaders will help you find a place.
o Remember - - the calendar/schedule for the needed help will come out next week; watch for it.
· Entrances will continue to be through the breezeway during construction – parking might be impacted as the new entrance work continues – feel free to use the grass when weather permits.
· Nursery remains in Suite 6 – thanks for helping us make this work!
· No Second Hour ministries this week.
Pastor Steve Recommends
I like to share some things that I’m reading, or have read, with you - - wisdom from men and women of the faith, unique challenges to make us think, or just fun stuff. This week I have only one, because it carries enough weight to keep us all thinking for some time. So dads – read it. Moms – read it. Grandparents – read it. Young men and women – you’re in there too; read it.
· Boy Friends, Girl Friends and Shotguns - Jen Wilkins writes: “So, my well-meaning father of a two-year-old… Instead of cross-examining the man your daughter brings home, cross-examine the man who brought your daughter home from the hospital. She does not need the belated braggadocio of your intentions to protect her from slouchy-pants fools when she’s a teen. She needs you to hitch up your own and invest in her character - now.” You can read the rest HERE.
