CHRIST’S BLOOD AND RIGHTEOUSNESS Tune to "AM I A SOLDIER OF THE CROSS?" CM Word by JIM BYRD
1. No labor of a sinful man, Can ever save a soul; No work but that of Christ alone, Can make the guilty whole.
2. A holy God demands that we Be free from sinfulness; Without defilement, guilt or shame, In perfect holiness.
3. With efforts of the flesh to save, Now let us all be done; God grant us faith to only trust The merits of His Son.
4. Behold His sacrificial death, And there salvation see; By His own blood and righteousness, God saves eternally.
5. Believe upon the Son of God, In Him acceptance find; Forsake attempts to save yourself, And leave them all behind.

It has been my honor to pastor this church for 18 and ½ years. Nancy and I thank all of you for your love and generosity throughout this ministry. When we came here, it was with the intention of staying the rest of our lives. The Lord has, however, altered our plans; and so we leave to minister at the Thirteenth Street Baptist Church in Ashland, Kentucky. Please know that this church is loved, appreciated and prayed for. I am fervently asking our Lord to provide you a faithful minister who will preach the same true gospel which I have proclaimed to you.
Since there will be no services here for a few Wednesday nights, I invite you to watch our midweek services in Ashland on the internet. IMPUTATION Every believer rejoices in the glorious truth that our sins were imputed to Christ and His righteousness has been imputed to us. Daniel prophesied of the coming of the Savior and said of Him, "Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself" (Daniel 9:25). The meaning is that the promised Redeemer would die for sins which were not His own except in the sense that they were imputed, charged to or reckoned to Him. Christ was without sin in His birth and so we read in 1 John 3:5, "He was manifest to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin." Christ was without sin in His life and so we read in 1 Peter 2:22, "Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth." Christ was without sin in His death and so we read in 1 Peter 1:19, "But with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." The Savior was not defiled by the sin imputed to Him otherwise His death would not have been "a sweet smelling savour unto God" (Ephesians 5:2). "For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Co 5:21). He bore our sins, but He was not corrupted by our sins. Our sins were imputed to Him, but not imparted, infused or put into Him. He was numbered with the transgressors, but He was not a transgressor. He died for sinners, but He was not a sinner. He laid down His life for the ungodly, but He was not ungodly. Just as Christ bore the burden of our guilt, though in Himself He was not guilty of sin, so we are made the righteousness of God in Him, though in ourselves we are not righteous. As sin was imputed to Him yet He remained righteous, so righteousness is imputed to those for whom He died though, in ourselves, we are still sinners. This is the glorious truth of imputation. –Pastor Jim Byrd *****
There is a lot of preaching on the love of God and there should be, but not at the expense of God’s other attributes. We need to hear about the holiness of God and the justice and wrath of God and how they were satisfied in the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. God’s wrath and justice were extinguished by Christ for His elect. Oh rejoice believer in Christ. –Pastor Wayne Boyd *****
