This Sunday during the Sunday School hour, we will have a presentation on Reformed missions to the mostly Muslim country of Albania given by Albert Kona and his fellow missionary Radcla. Bertie and "Radman" are both Albanians who graduated from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and whose desire is to bring the Reformed faith to their native land.
I would strongly encourage you to make an extra effort to come to Sunday School at 9:30 AM this Sunday in order to hear about Albania and the prospects for the spread of the gospel there. We often pray for the spread of the gospel into the Muslim nations, these are men who are planning to bring the message of Christ crucified to a critical area of that world.
Here is some initial information about their vision for evangelizing Albania: ------------------------------------------------------- My name is Albert Kona, and I am writing to tell you about the wonderful blessing and privilege to do Reformed and Presbyterianmission work in Albania. Lets call it Mission to Albania. First a few words about…
The Country of Albania
There is no Presbyterian denomination in Albania.
There is no Reformed denomination in Albania.
There is no Presbyterian Church in Albania.
Even Reformed Baptist churches are very rare.
Reformed witness and literature are scarcely found.
70 % of Albanians claim to be Muslims, 20 % claim to be Eastern Orthodox and 10 % Roman Catholic.
There are less than 9,000 protestants (most are Pentecostal and Charismatic) in a country of 3.5 million people.
Albania is a post-communist country struggling to define its spiritual, economical and political identity.
Christianity in Albania has ancient roots. The Apostle Paul traveled through Albania preaching the Good News. Of this he wrote in Romans 15:19 "…so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ." Part of this Illyricum is known today as the country of Albania.
Its vision is to establish a Reformed and Presbyterian denomination in Albania, faithful to the glory of God and to the Great Commission.

Who is Who?
I was born in Albania and raised under an atheistic and communist system until 1990. After the communist regime fell and the religious ban was lifted, allowing missionary work to start in Albania, the Lord drew me to Himself in 1992 when reading the New Testament for the first time. Since then I have been drawn to ministry and believe this and church planting to be my calling.
I am a graduate of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in South Carolina and under the care of Calvary Presbytery, PCA with plans to be ordained as a PCAminister and sent by my church as a church-planter to Albania. My wife Jenny and I are members at Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church, PCA. She also is a graduate from Greenville Seminary with a MA in Biblical Counseling. My hope is to leave for Albania as soon as I am ordained and the necessary support has been raised.
I am also praying to the Lord of the Harvest to be joined by other men. Come, join me in Albania! I am seeking for sessions and presbyteries to get behind this effort and support with prayer, finances and manpower. We are looking for ordained men or soon to be ordained men, Teaching Elders, Ruling Elders, Deacons (and Campus workers - we would love to be joined by zealous and gifted campus minister(s) to work at the State Universities in Tirana and Durres) that would join us in building Christ's Church in Albania. Even if you are not ordained or not planing to get ordained, stillcome, bring your talent, we can use you. Short term commitment is great, long-term commitment is excellent.
Our (or yours if you decide to get involved) job description or what we desire to get done would include all the good stuff such as:
Preaching the Gospel and the glories of Christ.
Planting parish churches.
Starting parish schools.
Training ruling elders and deacons with a love for God, passion for holiness, zeal for missions, care for the Church and full commitment to the Westminster standards and Presbyterian Polity.
Diaconal ministry.
Translation, writing and publication of Reformed literature.
