Of all the human senses, the eye and the ear are most important to learning and processing information. Pause for a moment and ponder the world that is accessed through these two senses. Or maybe it is easier to appreciate by imagining the world that is closed without these two senses. But it gets better. Scripture often equates spiritual life with the senses of sight and sound. Ponder the world of eternity, wisdom, and comfort that is yours because you hear the voice of God and see the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. And all of this, natural sight and sound, and spiritual sight and hearing, is the gift of God. He made both of them. It is a good think to give thanks unto the Lord, and to exalt the name of the Giver of the greatest gifts. Open your eyes today to the blessings of grace, and open your mouth today to make sounds of praise.
