“Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.” Proverbs 19:29

Solomon here simply makes a statement of fact. The scorner will eventually face judgment whether he believes he will or not. There is instruction here for everyone, but parents should particularly heed this truth. A scorner is a person who isn’t concerned about wisdom or correction. It is true that parents are limited in ability to prevent raising a scorner because only God can make a heart good. However, as parents, we are responsible for the patterns of behavior that our children develop. Given that great responsibility, it is important to keep these truths in mind:
